A Very Potter Christmas!

I’ve hosted a Christmas party ever since I got my first apartment my Junior year of college and this year was no different. Fortunately, each roommate I’ve had has been into party planning, and decorating. Two years ago Amber (who has since moved to a different city) and I hosted a Narnia Christmas Party and last year D (my current roommate) and I hosted a 12 Days of Christmas Party. This past weekend we hosted a Very Potter Christmas.

As you may know, Harry Potter receives his first Christmas presents at Hogwarts during in his first year.

As one of my friends put it on Facebook “The first seven Harry Potter movies all have Christmas scenes in them, making them appropriate for the season.”

We were of this mind when we were thinking of a theme for our party…back in September (yes…we are type A). We may have gone a bit overboard with the theme…but I’ll let you be the judge of that. Enjoy the photos below!

How to be Productive and Lazy At the Same Time

If you’re like me, productivity comes in waves. There are times when I’m eager to get everything done and check off all the items on my to-do list and other times when I’d rather just lay around and watch Netflix. I’m torn between being productive or at least maintaining good habits and reverting to college/cat-like behavior.

Happy Pi Day

3.14.15 – Pi Day Housewarming

On March 14, we had a housewarming party…a pi day housewarming party, of course!

The party started at 1:00 PM, but in our typical fashion my roommate Amber and I were both running a little bit late. Here’s how the schedule leading up to the party went…

10:00 AM (T minus 3 hours) Amber and I emerged from our rooms as zombies. We stumbled over to the kitchen for brains…I mean coffee.
